Dr. H. Shelton Earp, professor of pharmacology and medicine, Lineberger Professor of Cancer Research and director of the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, is the winner of the 2008 Thomas Jefferson Award. The annual Thomas Jefferson Award recognizes a UNC faculty member who, through personal influence and performance of duty in teaching, writing and scholarship, has best exemplified the ideals and objectives of Thomas Jefferson. UNC faculty members nominate candidates for the honor, which carries a cash prize; a faculty committee chooses the recipient. Read more here.
Chapman Wins 2008 IT Award
Congratulations are in order for Eric Chapman, winner of the 2008 IT award for individual IT service. Eric joins a list of distinguished nominees and was a winner out of 65 other individuals. Eric currently provides deskside support for Pulmonary and Infectious Diseases in Bioinformatics.
