TIM Upgrade August 2009

FORMAL NOTICE: TIM Upgrade August 2009

The TIM system will be upgraded beginning on Friday, August 7. The system will be down from Friday, August 7 at 5:30 pm until Monday, August 10 at 5:30 am.  During the downtime, users will not be able to log in.  *Teletime* will remain down until Wednesday, August 12 at 5:30 am.

*Employees using Badge Terminals* will be able to swipe in and out for worked hours during the downtime. Functions such as View Timecard Totals, View Accrual Balances, and Time Off Notifications will not be available at the Badge Terminals during the downtime period.

*Employees using Web Time Stamp* will not be able to login to TIM to record their times worked during the downtime.  All time worked for this downtime period should be submitted to the Manager or TIM Administrator for manual entry on Monday, August 10.

*Employees using Teletime* will not be able to call in to the phone system to record times worked during the extended Teletime downtime period.  All time worked during the downtime should be submitted to the Manager or TIM Administrator for manual entry on Wednesday, August 12.

*Employees using Manual Time Entry* will not be able to login to TIM during the downtime.  On Monday, August 10, they will enter any shifts worked during the downtime.

While the functionality has remained the same, the look and location of menus in the TIM system have changed.  The TIM online tutorials and manuals have been updated with changes to help users navigate the upgraded system.

Please take the 10-15 minute online tutorials for your position type as soon as possible and download the appropriate manual at http://www.unc.edu/finance/payroll/tim/tim_training.html.

PLEASE NOTE:  On *Monday, August 10,* the new TIM Thinstall will be available for download.  It is recommended that all users on *Monday, August 10* delete the current version of the Thinstall application and install the new TIM Thinstall from the UNC Shareware page at https://shareware.unc.edu/software.html.  If the user has not installed Thinstall previously, they should install the new TIM Thinstall.

On Monday, August 10, if you need assistance with installing the new TIM Thinstall, please contact your Technical Support Group or 962-HELP for assistance.  Instructions to download the Thinstall TIM Icon to your desktop are on pages 1-3 of the new TIM Manuals located online at http://www.unc.edu/finance/payroll/tim/tim_training.html.
