The UNC Diabetes Care Center Clinical Trials Program
An important facet of the UNC Diabetes Care Center is our participation in research studies, which have led to the development of new diabetes medications and devices. Patients of the UNC Diabetes Care Center are offered the opportunity to participate in clinical trials, when appropriate for their condition. Volunteers from the community are also recruited. There is a great deal of variation between studies with regards to time commitment and benefits which may include study medication, laboratory test results, a physical exam, an ECG, dietary counseling, and modest compensation.
